Making a booking for a short break can be complex these days! That is why most people for convenience use the big companies like Booking.com and Airbnb. Also for some people it feels like a safer option than booking direct. I use both these portals as I cannot compete with the advertising power of these companies.

My only concern is with offering affordable breaks for people. All these companies take around 20% of the money you pay to use their portal. I will always offer the best possible rates for people that book direct. Avallon Lodges has been run by the same family for almost 40 years, Booking.com was only founded in 1996. 

The booking system on this site is super secure with a fully certified payment portal which incorporates an insurance scheme with booking protect if you wish to pay for that. You can pay a deposit and pay the balance later. I am happy to move bookings and refund money. I just ask that I am given consideration as a small business owner and be given good notice on changes and cancellations.
